Introduction

The special considerations are different from reasonable adjustments, as they apply to a disadvantage that occurs to the applicant immediately before or during the assessment.

 The reasons for special consideration may be:

• Temporary illness
• Injury
• Adverse circumstances at the time of evaluation.

Application for a special consideration

The applicant must request and send a completed Special Consideration Application Form to [email protected] within 5 working days of the assessment date for which special consideration is requested. Eligibility will only be considered if accompanied by supporting documentation.

In case of serious disturbances during the examination, the examiner will provide a detailed report of the circumstances and of the candidates affected by the WSET certificate and return the complete examination documents together with the report to WSET.

If a candidate is unable to attend an examination due to a recent personal illness, accident or bereavement, Southside Bartending will conduct a Special Consideration to WSET®, which will endeavour to transfer the candidate to an alternative examination date at no additional cost if all the above aspects are covered.

Southside Bartending will keep records of all requests for special consideration.
